Title: Philosophy of Midwifery and Practice. Instructions: instructions are attached, i also attached 2 word document examples
I knew I wanted to be a midwife before I knew I wanted to be a nurse. My lure to nursing and childbirth began at age 15 during the Cheyenne-Arapaho Sundance ceremonies where I met Inca, the lay midwife on the Oklahoma reservation. A fascinating woman, she not only instilled in me the importance of natural childbirth, of female empowerment and confidence through labor but also starkly highlighted the reality that is working with an underserved population. I witnessed how limited access to health care resources combined with the high prevalence of chronic disease can plague a community: the ramifications and nuances of which I did not truly grasp until later in my academic and professional career.
